About Us
Welcome! You've found the blog of two high school sweethearts from the 'burbs of Portland, OR.
We're Jeremy and Brittany. We started "going out" at age 14, got engaged at 20, and married at 21. We were babies, even if we didn't think we were at the time. In August, we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary.
So far, it's been a wild and crazy ride!
In 2009, we "finished" construction on our new home. Since then, we have continued to work on it and make it our own as money allows.
A little bit more about me-
I'm a middle school social studies and language arts teacher. I LOVE my job and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I'm obsessed with houses and have been known to go through open houses whenever the mood strikes. In my spare time, I love decorating our house, getting lost on pinterest, and watching crappy reality T.V. shows.
A little bit more about him-
Jeremy is a firefighter/paramedic. It's his dream job and it makes me proud. In his former life, he worked in construction as a supervisor, field engineer, and then a residential contractor. Luckily for me, I married quite the handyman! He can fix anything around the house and save my life! Jeremy enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching just about anything on the History or Discovery channel.
A little bit about the dogs-
Bailey is our yellow lab. She's going to be seven in February and is affectionately called the "Engagement Puppy" because we got her on the day we got engaged. Bailey is feisty and doesn't tolerate many dogs aside from Toby. Her favorite thing to do is chew on bones, fetch tennis balls, and chase lights (sometimes imaginary to humans) around the house. She's nuts, but we love her.
Toby is our black lab. He is going to be five in February. We rescued him from a shelter right before I graduated from grad school. Toby wasn't taken care of at the shelter and was very sick when we brought him home. Luckily, after spending some nights at the vet and extra love and attention at home, he made a full recovery. Since then, however, he has become quite the spoiled dog. He believes he is an 8 lb. lap-dog rather than an 80 lb. lab. He prefers constant companionship and affection and will do anything as long as we are there.
Thanks for stopping by!
